In a nut shell what Joomla requires is:

Joomla requires PHP version 5.2 or higher;
Green Geeks servers have PHP version 5.2.9

Joomla requires MYSQL version 4.1.x or higher;
Green Geeks servers have MYSQL version 5.0.89

Joomla requires Apache version 2.x or higher;
Green Geeks servers have Apache version 2.2.14

When Joomla launches version 1.6 the server requirements will be that the server has PHP 5.2 or higher and MYSQL 5.0.4 or higher both of which are supported by the Green Geeks servers currently.
