WordCamp Miami 2020

WordCamp Miami 2020

February 28th through March 1st, head Florida International University for WordCamp Miami 2020 and meet up with some of the best experts in the Industry. From beginner’s workshops to advanced layouts and tools, there’s something for everyone!

And although we won’t be there in person, that’s still no excuse not to go. 😉

What to Expect at WordCamp Miami 2020

As one of the larger camps to go on this year, join hundreds of WordPress enthusiasts as you sit in on some incredible sessions. In fact, I’m a bit saddened that Florida is so far away from me.

This year, you’ll find talks such as:

  • Make Friends and Make Money in WordPress
In this session, Scott Mann will share ways to create a winning strategy to make money and win over businesses and friends in the WordPress community.
  • Don’t Sell WordPress, Sell a Solution Instead
Instead of viewing WordPress as a selling point, Pat Ramsey will help you identify a way to use it as a solution to improve relations with clients and their audiences.
  • Clever Content Creation to Build Businesses and Brands
Learn how to create content that is more in line with making money. Anthony Miyazaki will show you ways to streamline the process and go beyond just simply cranking out articles.
  • How to Reduce Work Loneliness
Sit in with Anelle Valdes and learn how to use the AIDA Model to improve interpersonal work relationships. This is a great talk for those who work from home as freelancers or have remote teams to manage.
  • Joy of JavaScript
Learn some new coding techniques in JavaScript with Luis Atencio and take your development to a whole new level. This includes a dive into new features and how to implement them properly.

And this is just a handful of the talks going on at WordCamp Miami 2020. The weekend is full of interesting and highly-informative sessions that any WordPress user would want to attend.

So while you all will have fun in the sun, I’ll have to be content with enjoying my mountain air and snow.

Fun Facts About Miami

Although WordCamp is loaded with a lot of great talks, don’t forget where you’re heading. It’s Miami! Make sure you enjoy the location and take in some sights while you’re there.

Some interesting things about the city include:

  1. Miami is the only major city in the United States founded by a woman. Julia Tuttle convinced a railroad mogul to bring the lines into the area in 1896.
  2. If you’re heading to WordCamp Miami 2020 from out of state, you’re among the 14 million tourists who arrive every year.
  3. Originally a mangrove swamp, Miami, including its beautiful beaches, is mostly man-made.

The city and surrounding areas are rife with things to do, explore and enjoy. So, make sure you take a moment to dive into Miami and get the most out of the experience.

Enjoy Yourself, Miami Campers!

There’s a lot to take in this weekend. Whether you’ve just started using WordPress for the first time or a seasoned professional, the information you’ll gain from this event will vastly improve your development skills.

I’d like to take this moment to thank all of the volunteers, organizers, sponsors and attendees who’ll make WordCamp Miami 2020 a great way to spend a weekend. Without your support, these kinds of events wouldn’t exist.
