GreenGeeks Scalable Hosting is a feature built into our new hosting platform which is currently available to customers who purchased web hosting in January 2017 or later. Shared & Reseller accounts purchased prior to January 2017 will be migrated to our new platform over the next couple months.

The scalable hosting feature will allow customers who generally are required to upgrade to a VPS to simply add more computing resources to their hosting account, without the need to upgrade to a virtual private server (VPS) or a dedicated server.

How Does it Work?

The scalable hosting feature allows customers to purchase additional resources such as Physical Memory, Disk I/O etc. as required on a month-to-month basis. Additionally, more static resources such as CPU are available for upgrade by transitioning to a larger package as needed. Most of these upgrades can happen with a simple phone call or ticket resulting in zero downtime for your website.

What Does it Cost?

The following resources can be scaled up or down as required, all upgrades are billed on a month-to-month basis separate from your actual hosting services.

Scalable ResourceMonthly Cost
Memory$2.50 per 256MB

How to Upgrade?

Customers can scale their resources by contacting our support department.
