Let’s Encrypt is a free, automated SSL certificate authority (CA) that is run for the public’s benefit by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG). Let’s Encrypt allows website owners to enable HTTPS (SSL/TLS) on their websites free of charge.
GreenGeeks provisions Let’s Encrypt Wildcard SSL certificates only. This certificate applies to any and all of your subdomains. For example https://blog.greengeeks.com, https://www.greengeeks.com, and https://anything.greengeeks.com/.
Let’s Encrypt Wildcard SSL certificates are issued for a period of 90-days. When installed using the GreenGeeks SSL Installer, your certificates are renewed automatically. Since the certificates are domain-validated, they do not require the use of a dedicated IP address.
To enable Let’s Encrypt on any of your hosted domain names, please contact our support staff.
