Softaculous is a software that automatically installs a WordPress blog on your hosting account. The installation process is very fast and requires no special or technical skills.

In this tutorial, we will cover how to install a WordPress blog using Softaculous. We assume you have already logged into your GreenGeeks Account Manager prior to landing on this page. If not please Click Here first.

Step 1: Login to your cPanel Account


Select the cPanel Login button for the respective website your trying to access.

Step 2: Scroll down to the Software/Services section.


Click on the Softaculous icon as shown above.

Step 3: Hover your cursor over the WordPress logo.


Step 4: Click Install


Step 5: Enter your desired WordPress Blog Information

On this page, you will be configuring your new WordPress Installation:


1. Choose Domain: This allows you to select the Domain Name that will be used to display your new WordPress Installation.

2. In Directory: This is the folder/path that this installation will be displayed from. For most customers this should be blank

3. Site Name: This is the name that will be displayed on your new WordPress Installation, this can be changed later.
4. Site Description: This is the description that will be displayed on your new WordPress Installation, this is changeable.
5. Admin Username: This will be the unique username used to access your WordPress Admin Panel.
6. Admin Password: This will be the unique password used to access your WordPress Admin Panel. 
7. Admin Email: This will be used to communicate any WordPress Related changes.

8. Select Language: This is the language your WordPress Admin Panel will be configured for.
9. Install: Once all settings have been inputted click Install!
