    Can you offer any thoughts on Magento vs WooCommerce with respect to use cases?
    For instance, which platform is better suited to a nonprofit for offering ticketed events and fundraisers with various dollar amounts for the same ‘item’ (often event tickets are $0, but another ticket alongside to opt for donation)?

      The main things (in my opinion) to take away from Magento or WooCommerce is what are you willing to pay and how much do you need to scale? Honestly, a lot of this comes down to a personal preference for people… that being said, if you have a WordPress site, WooComerce is usually the call.

      Magento does have the “advanced pricing rules” built-in. However, WooCommerce does the same thing but they are found under “Attributes.” You would create the attribute and add the terms you want under that attribute. You want (in your case separate ticket pricing options) for the event. For example, say your attribute is “Ticket Options.” And in that attribute your terms are:

      Free (Donation)

      You create the attribute and add those terms. Then, when you create a new product, you add the “Ticket Options” attribute to the product and select any or all of those attribute terms you created. YOu will be presented with boxes to fill out relevant info for those attributes… So then on the ticket page, all the choices will show.

      Anyway, I know this was long but just trying to answer your question. Hope this helps some. Both are really good platforms, you will need more developer knowledge to really scale Magento.
